Clayton: Health Improvement

I had type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides and I had been seeing different things and reading different articles that said the bariatric surgery would help with the type 2 diabetes. I was on 14 medications a day and insulin every night, and I had the surgery done. Four weeks after my surgery my blood sugar level was coming under control, my cholesterol dropped significantly, my triglycerides were like 560 and they went down. I just had blood work the other day from my cardiologist and my blood work showed that my triglycerides were only 126 now.

I’ve got a lot of energy, my energy levels went from where I probably couldn’t have walked a mile, and now there’s some days that—a group of us that have had the surgery— we’ve walked seven miles. Doesn’t even phase us.

You know at this point everybody asks me, would I do it again? Yeah I’d do it again in a heartbeat just for getting rid of the type 2 diabetes— that was a big plus for me.

If you have medical problems due to diabetes, cholesterol and weight loss, then it would be a very good idea to really consider this. I’ve seen both issues, in my case the diabetes and cholesterol, and my triglycerides, those have all come back to normal range now. I’ve seen it in the weight loss theory. I know it works if you’re really considering a change in your life and you’re willing to do it I don’t believe you’ll be sorry, I really don’t. I would recommend it.

I’m down almost 80 pounds now since then.
